I'm really glad that you covered Jumping At Shadows. The game exceeds Rayman in the visuals department. Multi-layered parallax, superb lighting and transparency effects using the Jaguar's CRY mode, coupled with ultra-smooth 60ps gameplay are a great showcase of the console's 2D abilities. I think it will be a very important game for the system, If I didn't have a Jaguar, I would certainly buy J.A.S. if it was released on modern systems using BigPEmu, or the VCS800 if ATARI finally add the emulator to the system. Great video, dude.

Great roundup, Jon. I have several games featured in this video, but haven't gotten around to playing them. I like the looks of Grogger for the Lynx. I will look to pick up the Dr. Typo Collection in a future order. There are some amazing people out there who have the creativity and technical skills to make commercial-grade games--very exciting stuff, and I completely agree with you that they deserve to be supported with $$ purchases.

Most of them don't do it for the money but that doesn't mean they don't deserve to make something. I really like the Dr typo collection and I feel that he has a good grasp on the hardware. Don't get me wrong I like the 2D stuff, but like everybody else I get a little giddy when I see new 3D stuff for the Jag. I'm glad you enjoyed the video I might do something like this twice a year.

@@TheAtariNetwork I do see it comparable to the n64 of Trilogy (I own it along with the Saturn and ps1 ports). The Saturn and ps ports had better music and more characters because of the cd format but the n64 had the advantage with little to no loading times. I see something similar withe the Jag and n64.

Great video! I'm also anxiously awaiting Audacity Games'Casey's Gold. I have a small update... Dan Kitchen (and all the Audacity guys) are gonna be at Corgscon 2024 in Columbus OH. On June 1st. Under the list of Special Guests it says Kitchen hopes to get in released in later 2024. I'm thinking the announcement will be made at the Convention. Great video! We would have more games for the Jaguar if the community support was not so toxic. Would-be programmers have been turned away from certain individuals in the AA Jaguar forum.
@DaveMoorland-zv3tn
4 ай бұрын
I wouldn't say that they're toxic. They understand the console better than most, and they have to put up with huges amount of disinformation. Take Jag Studio/Raptor A.P.I. for instance. MANY people will tell you that it doesn't take advantage of the Jaguar, and yet known coders and the developer of BigPEmu will tell you that they're some of the best tools ever made for the system. Their are lots of 'coders' on the forum that don't actually make any games for the system and just spin negative info about the Reboott guys. 3D games on the Jaguar are possible, but will take years to make when compared to 2D.
