Both these cats are legendary. They answered the bell when the funk machines geared up in the 70's, and never looked back. Many others came and went, some imploded, still others got run over by that runaway freight train that is the business of music. Yet, here they are, still grooving, still reaching back, still laying it down. Much love and good health to you both. Us bass players are forever linked to the foundation of it all.👑🎸🎵

I actually saw this interview last year some time and loved it from the jump, bootsy collins and verdine white both guitar legends in the music industry. Their music set the course for hip hop in some way. Not just hip hop because you have other genres of music that had been inspired by these men. They both speak so eloquently about their lives as musicians, its a beautiful thing homie, their music has inspired me to write some cold rap songs, not only rap but songs period.

I so appreciate the education these two artists are sharing, 75% business 25% show there a lot to being in a band. Playing music is the gravey. I guess that why so many bands are a "flash in the pan". Some focus on the play. To be successful you have focus on the knowledge of the business. Avoiding the pitfalls..drugs and alcohol

Verdine White and Bootsy Collins are 2 of my favorite bassist of all time, along with Larry Graham, Mark Anthony of Slave, Louis Johnson of Brothers Johnson, Aaron Mills of Cameo and Marvin Isley of the Isley Brothers. Bass players just aren't featured anymore in music, which is the main reason why the funk has died in the minds of most people. As far as I'm concerned, the funk has never died. I still to this day listen to these funk icons. Mostly live.
