Yea,brad every time i show to people your biggest " apartment in montepulciano ( the one that used to be the town's mayor") i tell them " wait till you see the humongous balcony this apartment has ! Now that is more than just a balcony! You got yourself a tremendous piece of property and with two additional apartments, wow, i wish i could get something like that now for what you paid for it!,

It’s always now somewhere. I’m going to look at a house next week with Agents, my architect, designer and of course wifey. She doesn’t know yet… 🤫 She doesn’t like the house because it is across from an elementary school but it’s a small one. She is also worried about the house being haunted, but I don’t think so. We can always bring in a priest to “clean it”! 🥳 Oh, my point being in 2-3 years people are going to say “I can’t believe you got this house of 5,000 Sq feet with an extra building in a great hilltop town for €350K!”! You just have to be ahead of the curve! Thanks Ana!

Awesome apts, brad , tremendous deal for sure!, the thing missing is s good size balcony. I always wonder why is that many properties in italy with really nice views dont have balconies, or they just put some kind of railing in front of the window. Is this some kind of italian thing that they arent into balconies? Greeks are totally into, and me too. That will be a requisite for me whenever i buy something there.
@BradsWorld

Railing is to keep you from falling to your death! Problem now is you can’t add a balcony on most homes because you can’t change the look of buildings here normally in protected zones. That includes historic centers, which is where 80% of the houses that I show you guys are located. We got lucky with our biggest apartment in Montepulciano, because it has a huge balcony with a view on the backside.

are the apartments side by side, is there possibility to connect them?"

They are side by side. Yes I think you could. Through the kitchen in smaller one into hallway in bigger one. You would basically own the top floor. Maybe better to redo general entryway.

Casa Maria Lucia. I would take the smaller apartment and sell the other because I am single and would only need a holiday home.

Fair enough! Really nicely renovated apartments pop-up like this for under 80,000 in this general area. And as I said, in the video, these aren’t dead areas. I hope you find something and make this happen.

I really wanted to love it, but the interior looks like a cheap rental cookie cutter from Hoboken New Jersey. They literally renovated every bit of charm out of the place 😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫 awful 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

when are italians going to admit that the refrigerator belongs in the kitchen? ins a new remodel, well done, large kitchen,; and the refrigerator is in the unfinished room next door. thats just silly!!

There was a grey fridge in the kitchen in the video. 🤔 I was surprised about the auxiliary one in rough room. When Olivia and I first moved here, it took a little bit of time to get used to such small refrigerators. But you go to the market, and you go to the farmers market absolutely every town has and you buy your stuff every couple of days at the most. Fridges just don’t need to be that big here.

So did the people who redid these apartments just take a big loss on these? I don't see how money could have been made at that price. A shock to walk into the unfinished half. wow.

I’m still formulating this hypothesis, but here it goes… I think a lot of people here inherit properties, so cost of acquisition is zero. Families are big and there’s a lot of property changing hands that way. And people with the ability to fix it up nice. There’s so many variables I can’t say how much it would’ve cost to turn those two apartments into what they are compared to the room that wasn’t finished… But coming here and trying to flip properties I don’t think is a real option. You would have to be very careful to pick just the right property to do that. So no, no big money made here flipping. I have an advantage over all you guys being physically being in that house and I can tell you it was very tight, well done… a renovation that cost €120K plus.

even that's really cheap compared to Houston. I dream every day of moving over there. don't think the wife would ever do it. We could sell our house in the Houston for close to a million and we own it free and clear. It's over a hundred years old. Paid 38,000 in 76, we're retired and doing fine and I have a garage apartment we could rent out for over a thousand if money gets tight. but still I'd love to live in that much beauty. but things are getting kind of ugly here in the US and looking likely to get way worse.OF course I'm not sure that bodes well for Europe either. We just got back from a rip to scotland. I'm pushing for a trip to Italy next year.
