Excellent video as always Tom and a topic many of us struggle with but one that I had no idea how to handle. Golf is truly a game that involves the whole person mind and body. Salute!

The ‘butterflies in the stomach’ / first tee nerves are also part of the ‘flight or fight’ mechanism. The negative thoughts such as ‘I mustn’t hit it it the water etc’ help to feed negative emotions which lock our muscles, we tighten our grip etc. To help overcome these, you can reinforce the positive side such as imagining a beautiful shot down the middle of the fairway. It’s about creating a virtuous circle.
