Yeah meaningless to you sure, but it may mean a lot to them or to me. And i can imagine someone saying "in the grand scheme of things none of that will really matter." Life is not about the end,it s about what s before that by definition. your life doesn't matter in the great scheme of things ,but it does matter to you.it might not affect the universe ,but it does affect you.and your reality, your universe is everything to you,and acting like it doesn't matter it will affect you even if you care about it.it s like seeing a train coming fast towards you and saying: "in a million years it won t matter that this train hit me today so I have no reason to care about this detail".I want to see one nihilist who would have that reaction :)) "You're going to pay a price for every bloody thing you do and everything you don't do. What you seem to be thinking of as meaning is a personified universe that's purpose driven, so when people do stuff for a purpose that impacts the world in a big way, that has some meaning relative to their motivations. The meaninglessness of life is what brings joy, for it is then ourselves which can create and give it purpose. @@hugejackedman7423 life is inherently meaningless by definition of meaning. doing something with cause to create change. nothing is REALLY changing if everything ends in the life death cycle all over again. if you ever try and label a universal “ purpose of life “ is would just simply be to live and die and allow that cycle to repeat. that’s not a depressed persons perspective, that’s just how it is. you can make it more if you want, but there’s always “why...? if i’m just going to die”. but i mean might as well go out having made the experience on earth have some false sense of meaning, even if it’s just a safety net to avoid existential questions, rather than not trying at all.

@@perverto3908 Objective Meaning does exist. It comes from One Source, God, whether Abrahamic and/or not. The Meaning Of Life is to prove ourselves to God, in a Universe separate from him, so that our Individual Virtue may show, in the imperfect Environment of The Physical Universe. It’s the base Goal, in Life, for any and every Individual to follow through with. How do we prove Ourselves to God? Well, that’s another Question. But we still have to accomplish that Goal of proving our Individual Worth to him, within a Finite Period of Time, on Earth, with the Stakes of whether or not we get sent to Heaven, Hell, and/or Purgatory.

@@austinthesan-antonian3932 the very concept of god is and was crafted to be paradoxical, unfathomable for us humans within the logic we know and conceive as universal, therefore proving ourselves to any such god is an undefined, everchanging concept that requires the denial of all logical thought in the way of faith. Any pursuit or goal can be based upon faith, even mass suicide and murder, genocide and whatever atrocity that comes to one's mind, but also uninterested care, mutual aid and love. The way nihilism as presented by Caroline and the folks here, works very similarly, because after accepting the futility of every human individual and enterprise, one can choose to believe it is worth nothing or absolutely everything, in a sense that yes, it will end changing nothing, but it is also everything we'll ever have.
