Holy shit... the amount of micro in this game.... I can't even play StarCraft competitively.

Thats one thing I'm worried about. There will be a lot less units then in starcraft, and hope fully it will be more clear what you should do then in starcraft, but its still a concern I'm having. If you have any good ideas for how to make it more manageable let me know!

Eskil Steenberg Well I like how some of the units seem to have AI of their own, and will react to enemies without any input from you. Maybe you could add something like a simplified version of Frozen Synapse, where you can give a list of actions to a unit, kind of a set of logic gates, if this happens > do that. Would be like a middle ground between giving them more AI and having to micro the crap out of them.

l2ic3 I have been considering various ways of being able to create settups where you can prepare units before combat. I have thought about being able to place out objects like mines or lights. Maybe setting up units to be combat ready some how is a good idea. I just need a way to make it not too complicated. Right now placing Chassis behind Fenders and jagers further away and then put invokers in cover while still covering other units is a bit like that but there can probably be more done.

Mixing fields can lead to interesting tactics ! The teleport field reminds me a Planetary Annihilation issue : no time for micro management because a whole army can suddenly appear at any given time (plus this one is a mobile teleport). You will probably need a clear UI on this game. I like cryptic stuff but I must admit it increases the learning curve. Some people just can't learn more than ~3 keyboard shortcuts... Depending on the scale of the game, releasing thousands of missiles catch in statis field won't be heavy on CPU resources ?

Im very curious as to how much you can abuse the invokers fields. My guess is that good players will use them A lot. I think the logic of the UI should be resonably easy to learn since most people understand WASD as direction input and the units in the tech tree are layed out that way... but who knows? Yes too many projectiles stuck in a Stasis field could be taxing, but i think we are talking about A LOT. I may merge multiple bullets being stick in the same place going the same dirrection, in to single bullets giving more damage, if it becomes a problem. Why don't you download the game and have a go?

Eskil Steenberg I tried to play your game but not a single menu is giving me something except the level editor. I don't see any levels on the planet. Just poles with round grey circles around. There's nobody online so the menu is red. Do we have to build our own level or download them ?
