You have made my day! I just watched all your videos and learned so much from your experience. I am in the process of collecting what I need to build a desktop terrarium 8 x 6 x 14" and a paludarium 16 x 16 x 34" that will house vampire clabs and have a drip system. I also have 3 aquariums. I'm homebound and it's hard to find alot of "stuff" ha-ha. What kind of clay do you use in the mixture? I would like to chat with you to learn some of your other techniques. How can I send you my info? Thanks, Darlene

Thanks! The clay I used was pottery clay from Amazon, I can't remember the exact ratio because I made a huge batch of it a few years ago and I'm still using it. I put it in a 5G bucket with a lid to keep from drying out and haven't had any issues keeping it that way. My email is in the About section if you need to reach out for info.

Silicone is the best option. Check out my latest video where I explain why I'm done using expanding foam backgrounds and the alternative I use.

I've never personally had an issue with the foam coming off but I have heard of others who've had the issue, but it's also been on larger backgrounds where that happens. In this case, the area is very small and the foam as it expands wedges itself into the back and sides. I also clean the glass with isopropyl alcohol to remove any oils or dust that may be there from the manufacturing process and the silicone I use to cover the foam extends onto the glass helping to secure it to the glass.

@@arjunprincy81 Depends on the look you're going for. If you're using a lot of driftwood and rock you can silicone some to the glass and to each other for stability and use peat or coco coir to hide the silicone. Then fill in the spaces with whatever you want. Another option to glue them together is J-B Welds 2-part waterweld putty or super glue and tissue paper or cotton.

Yes but don't forget to carve off the skin from the foam before putting on the silicone.
