I used to have one of these as a kid, probably over a decade ago. It looked just like this one. I now realise that these are called Hoberman spheres. Though this one apparently isn't the original form of Hoberman sphere which is a spherical icosidodecahedron. I'm not sure what is the name of this spherical polyhedron, but it has 24 faces, 48 edges, and 26 vertices, and not all of the edges are part of a great circle like on the original type.

Oh, it's called a (spherical) ‘deltoidal icositetrahedron’. Searching Wikipedia for ‘24 faces 48 edges 26 vertices’ brought it up straight away!
