Great heads up to others about giving under 18 people anything. Especially in the Phillipines. Big trouble doing that. I relate to everything you say as a SE Asian slow traveler. It’s the absolute best life. I’m older than you and I am the freest, most contented, and happiest ever. I relate also about going through withdrawal from the overwhelming decision making in the US. When I go back to the US I see how crazy it is there. It’s normalized. But not for me. I choose to love myself with peace, limitless adventures, new connections, daily learning, understanding how others think and make decisions, no regrets, and growing openness beyond the US mindset. The best decision I ever made. Great content. 🙏🏼

Another great travel video, brother. Since watching many of your travel videos to different SEA countries, I have adapted your travel tip on packing light and buying things I need in the country that I will be in. I pack enough clothes to fit in a backpack for a few days and go from there. So much easier and no worries about picking up my luggages at the carousel. I just get off the plane, walk out the airport and begin my adventures. Take care, stay safe and please continue creating great, informative and inspiring travel videos. All the best.

Glad to have watched your videos about living in Thailand and Malaysia, which are very informative. I just retired in the summer and we have booked a Dec - Jan Thailand trip to visit Chiang Main, Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket, for a total of 30 days. This will be our first time in Thailand to get a real feeling of living there, before we decide to stay longer term in the future. We will then make a 15 day's trip to Penang, Kuala Lumper, and Singapore before returning to home in US. We choose to spend about $60 per night on average for hotels / AirBnB in this trip. We may reduce the living cost once it becomes a long term stay. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

95% of beggars in Bangkok are beggars from neighboring countries, especially from Cambodia. They do it in a procession by bringing children together to beg for alms, which Thai people are sympathetic to and thus make merit. Their income is very good, with some earning more than 100,000 baht per month. It is the source of many Cambodians coming to beg in Thailand. Recently, the Thai Ministry of Human Development and Protection has begun to crack down on some of them.

@@AJ-ww6qs Like all long established countries the vast majority of Americans are the the admirable hard working middle and lower class. We have a corruption problem that's been astronomically worsened since the big tech information brokers took over in the 2000's. The nutrition disinformation (including dessimating the farming industry) began in the mid-20th century. The eventual downsides of human nature...strength eventually makes room for corruption...just the way it is.

Thank you for posting another great video. Just wondering. Why are you staying in places like this? On airbnb for and under $500 US p/m you can find heaps of modern and well equipped places including the power usage and facilities like : fresh towels; - air conditioning; - TV set with international channels; - set of crockery and cutlery for 4; - fridge; - access to your own balcony with chairs and a table; - huge swimming pool on the roof with Jacuzzi, sauna and a view of the sea; - free wi-fi; - free access to the gym on the roof; - free sauna on the roof; - security system all over the building; - washing machine;

When you say "don't get caught on camera giving money to a little girl. It could get bad for you..." Is it that the police will try to frame you for solicitation of a minor, or someone else that will "set you up"?

Thanks for the video, you need at least $3K a month to live in Thailand comfortably plus whatever extra savings you have for emergency because living pension to pension is not enough.

You can live comfortably in Thailand on less than half of that. Easily.

You really need about $3000+ to retire comfortably. Good hotels are $30-50/day. That's $1000+. Eating out is about $20/day with snacks in between. Transportation costs $20/day. Traveling to other countries airplane + transport another $600 to $1000.

If you are retiring there, why would you stay in a hotel and eat out every day of the month? You can rent when retiring for much less and eat at home.
