I have lately been thinking about what I want my legacy to be when I'm no longer on this plain. I hope that something I've said or done, purposely, living in spirit and truth, will have positively affected someone. I don't know if it's your personal constitution, but you've done just that for me with this video. I am a singer who's a basso cantante. Because of this particular story on Robert Bradley, I feel "seen". Thank you for covering the musical diaspora. I absolutely love your channel and what you offer to the artistic community.

The closing statement: "the importance of the church as a place for music education" has a lot of manna for aspiring musicians. Hymns, anthems and spirituals are music education.

@@bmwjourdandunngoddess6024I think its because male singers are not really hyped up as much for their vocals Women seem to be judged more harshly for subpar vocals The standards are much lower for men But there are many men who can sing and even out sing some women too You can literally make a list of male singers from the past 30 years who can sing Tevin Campbell Usher Dimash Mario Luthor Vandross George Michael could keep up with Aretha and Whitney Brendon Urie Luke James Freddie Mercury Sylvester E.t.c.... Many male vocalists can blow but they don't get criticised as much as women for subpar vocals so the bar is lower It's easier to be successful with subpar vocals for men And the bar has also gotten lower for modern female singers too. Having a unique voice might be all you need to be a success Besides looking physically attractive

Are you going to feature Bro. Joe May as well? His voice was also stellar. Both Bro. May and Dr. Bradley were also very dear friends of Mahalia Jackson. Thank you for honoring the legends. ❤ Bro. Joe and Mahalia were also childhood fans of the legendary Enrico Caruso and Mother Willie Mae Ford Smith - you hear their strong vocal influence on both younger singers’ styles.

This was a really good and interesting video. To me, both guys sound like low Baritones. It seems odd to call someone a bass if they can't hit (and sustain) a C2. Maybe, that's just me. I mean, is it that rare to go that low? Also, I really liked the little crescendo Dr. Bradley did at the end.

Yay for the basses and baritones! How many of you basses and baritones must go into your falsetto voices while being led by 1st or 2nd tenor praise and worship leaders because the key that they are singing in is just too high for our natural voices? Then, they have the nerve to fuss at the congregation by saying something like "Ah, y'all don't want to praise God!" It's not that we, basses, and baritones, don't want to praise God. It is the fact that God did not make us tenors. To save our voices from strained abuse, God gave us falsettos. So, stop sweating us and bring the keys down so EVERYBODY can sing them with full voice at least sometimes.
