We caught a 14 hour sleeper train from Beyneu, Kazakhstan across the border to Nukus, Uzbekistan.
This was our first time being on a train during the day, so it was great to be able to socialise with others along the way.
Our main reason for heading to Nukus was to visit the Aral sea. We hopped on a local bus which drove us 3 hours north to the city of Muynak, which used to border the lake.
The lake has receded to over 200km away from Muynak now, with only the abandoned rusting ships giving away that there was ever water here.
Join us as we visit Muynak's ship graveyard!
