Just a small bit of mythology lore I know. Hades is actually the name of the entirety of the Greek underworld, which had different areas a person could end up in based on how you lived your life. Rulers generally used to go by the name of their domain. That's why you have Shakespeare characters like Kent and Gloucester. You can also see that in characters like Vegeta, of Planet Vegeta. Hades is named after the underworld, not the other way around. He was originally called Pluto, before being renamed to share the name of the underworld, similar to the Etruscan Orcus who also shared the name of his domain. The Romans then took the same name earlier in their history (Pluto) before renaming him to Dis Pater after merging Pluto with the Greek god of mineral wealth Plutus.
