BTS came to me in a real low period in my life. I'm 67 years old, and at the time, nearly three years ago, I was experiencing health issues, I was struggling with stress in my marriage and some family relationships, and I was feeling very old and defeated. I spent my whole adult life taking care of others, doing and being what others expected of me. BTS told me that I had worth. They told me that I could be myself and love myself. They told me that if I just looked inside myself, they would be there to strengthen, comfort, and support me. I started to look forward to each day rather than mourn my lost youth. I wanted to become more proactive in my own healthcare. I began to make plans for the future. I became hopeful again. They completely changed my outlook, and I began to see positive changes in my relationships. It's crazy to think that seven young men from halfway around the world whom I've never met and will likely never meet have had such an impact on my life! But they have. They've taken up permanent residence in my heart and soul, and I'm in ARMY for life. Borahae! 💜

By accident I became 72 yrs old. I'm gay, and stumbled upon BTS after my life partner died. Music has always been important. So 21 years of grief triggers in all my playlists, I needed something different. BTS'S rapline was perfect, it hid the pop-ness. A deep dive revealed their story, their social media content, and1" more importantly, their hearts. They saved my life and I'm fascinated. Magic, and so fucking beautiful too...

Bingo, Max! You nailed it. Nothing cheesy at all to say that our cups have runneth over. My wish for those who aren't BTS Army is not necessarily to convert them into being a part of this incredible experience, but that they can find something similar. My attempts to introduce BTS to family and friends has yet to lead anyone down the rabbit hole and join me in the fandom. But what it has done is allowed those people to see how much joy BTS brings me and they appreciate the fellas because they see me navigating life with a full cup. That is a win.

It's easy to fake something, faking a facade is easy. But not in 10yrs+. Not a single article, from their pre-debut, debut, from 2012-2023, negative article about their attitude. Na-da. If that's not genuine, idk what is anymore. They're just these 7 ppl, when doing somethint, feels like you're with family. 💜

I feel like I'm part of a huge family and I feel loved 💜 a few years ago if someone had told me that I'd be feeling like this about 7 guys I've never met, I would have called them crazy. @@maxpbeaumont - I am a 60yr old Aussie with BPD and I have isolated myself away from people for decades to avoid the overwhelm of emotional dysregulation. Since 2015, BTS and their music has been my main external source of comfort and for a long time, whenever I had to go out, it was listening to their music that helped alleviate the anxiety it triggered. They have been a blessing to me. Jin is my absolute favourite in both personality and vocal tone, followed closely by Yoongi but love and respect them all. 💜

I think I started crying a few seconds after this video started. It is so difficult to explain everything that BTS makes us feel, we could talk for hours or even days without being able to come up with something that summarizes it. How beautiful that you feel it too and explain this, and above all, that as a professional, say that it is normal to feel this, and that and it is good for us! and for them!

Thank you Max for sharing your thoughts and emotion about BTS. I’m a 63 yr old ARMY, they came to my life 4 years ago. I learn so much from them, they give me so much joy and hope. Like they always say “LOVE YOURSELF” That when you love and take care of yourself, you’re a better person for others. And by loving and taking care of yourself, you have so much more to offer the world than you do when you’re running on empty. When you feel good about yourself, you give more and treat others better. “ To all my co ARMY, don’t stop loving yourself and believing in yourself. Just like our 7 angels do. Until we meet them again in 2025 💜💜💜

An old clip of Yoongi at a fan sign popped into my feed the other day. It's one where he's telling fans not to diet. Saying, "You're perfect the way you are", he added, "Imagine even one gram of you leaving this world? I wouldn't be able to live". This acceptance of each person as they are has huge appeal. They model inclusion on each step of their journey. And they do so as if it's the most natural thing.

👏🏻💜👏🏻 I really enjoyed your observations. I’m a 64 year old Mexican American women from Texas. I have a JD and a masters and I’ve worked in executive levels of both public and private organizations (including the Clinton White House). I certainly don’t fit the usual KPOP fan profile. I often find myself wondering about many of the things you discuss. I think you nailed it when you talk about how accessible BTS members are and how it is easy to identify with them individually. I was an English Lit major in college and spent a lot of time considering universal themes that resonate with any and all human experience. I think those universally shared feelings and experiences are what BTS has tapped into in both their art (music/lyrics) and messages to their fans. Finally, I have very similar feelings about Yoongi - going from thinking he is aloof and cold to knowing how kind and caring he really is. Great job! 👍🏻👏🏻💜

BTS makes me feel validated. Before I started listening to them I'd see people online talking about how BTS would be happy for them or proud of them & I always thought, "Why? They're a group of famous, rich people. Why would they care??" Then, once I started watching them, I understood what everyone had meant. They have every opportunity to make music about the same ol' subjects that artists have been writing about for eternity. Which is fine, but the fact they choose to write the majority of their songs about things that we all struggle with daily, the types of things that you normally don't hear coming from artists with a platform such as theirs, is incredibly validating. And because they're open with us about these things, we feel more connected to them. I appreciate that honesty because it humanizes people more. You feel closer even though you don't know them. Like if we did meet, we could pick up a conversation as if we were old friends.

Max, you got it exactly right and you know it! They taught me to try my best to pay it forward or just to try my best. Even if it’s not monetary, Ihave tried to give and help as much as I can. I have over-pushed myself and then BTS reminds me that I need to try and take care of myself in order to help others better. They really are brothers, best friends, teammates! I found it funny that when I started watching your reactions and analyses, that you wondered about Yoongi being so quiet. He was the first member I was drawn to and felt I could relate to the most in the beginning. I’ve grown to love all the BTS members for different reasons OT7 though I have a soft spot for Yoongi. I so hope to be able to attend a concert! I’m sure everyone will be racing when they return so all sold out but I still hope! 🤞 I’m happy as long as they’re doing well and already Jimin released something! I’m going to enjoy rewatching on my own when I can or others on KZitem also. It would be so nice if I could pay to watch certain documentaries but I’m happy just knowing BTS are here for us ARMY! Your words are not cheesy. They describe the emotions and what we/you see and do in a most amazing, way! Thank you for this explanation of the phenomenon that is BTS and Army. I totally agree with this. And this is something other fandoms don't understand. They're always comparing "who and who does this and that better, i don't understand why BTS is so popular", well here's one of the reasons why they are so popular. They think Army are teenage girls just swooning over BTS because we think they're hot. Which we do of course, but honestly, that "hotness" comes from their personality. If we only loved them for their looks, their career would not be sustainable as all humans will age and become old. But BTS is here for the long run and as long as they continue to build their connection with Army, we are not going anywhere. I'm a baby Army (oct 2022), and i had prejudice against BTS. If you told me anytime over a year ago that i would be this deep into a fandom or "boyband" i would laugh in your face, and yet here i am, an irrevocable Army. May our fandom keep growing while we purge out the toxic bad apples. Happy to be part of the community and I can't wait for the comeback!

They are kind of a reminder to me: Here are the normal guys starting from zero, the symbol of hard work and success! I'm also a big Freddie Mercury fan and as I was watching your video I remembered what he once said: "I think in the end being natural and being actually genuine is what wins, and I hope that comes out in my songs" I believe This is also true about our boys in many ways, their music, performances, Run Bts, bon Voyage etc. They will always have my love and respect for their pure and genuine relationship with us.

@maxpbeaumont, so glad to have been along for your journey as you went from curious to convinced that these guys represent genuine goodness in the world. It is so worthwhile when adults legitimize and take young people seriously. You and your uncle do a great job of viewing people from a psychological point of view. Honestly, you help to explain why so many are drawn to them and why they are especially an example of hope for a younger generation known for their anxiety and fear of the future (gen Z). I'm a music teacher and became interested in bts as an example for my students for their dance, message, strong group bond, and unstoppable work ethic. My family got on board and we act like they are our sports team. My husband and kids also feel proud and somewhat protective of them as we have been rooting for them through every success and failure and watching their story unfold. It's magical.

They've helped me get through feeling lost and lonely. Their words stay with me, because i know and trust that they come from a place of sincerity, so when yoongi says "you're already more than enough to be loved", i believe it. I think that since BTS came into my life that November, after listening to Dynamite, my life changed a lot. Suddenly they became my greatest strength, the colors that my life was missing. They made me feel less alone. They gave me wings to fly, they gave me courage, they gave me LOVE. They taught me so many things, I learned so much from those seven wonderful people. And they are so magical, so real and sincere. The connection that I managed to have with them is not compared to anything, the affection, respect, admiration and all the love that I have for those people is inexplicable.who live on the other side of the world. But they never made me feel far from them. They always make me feel close to their laughter, their jokes, their affection, their love, their stories, their worries, of your thoughts. They are always there when no one else is. They saved me. They gave me their best and they make me give my best . And I love so much every feeling I have for them, every thought, I am still impressed by the joy that grips me when I see something related to them, when I listen to them, when I see them.Love it I love them I hope to have the opportunity to say THANK YOU: thank you for your love, for your hugs from a distance, for your respect, for your dedication, for being yourself, for your courage and for your strength to continue in this crazy music industry. Thanks for staying real and Thanks for everything, BTS. 💜 Sorry if my English is not very good! I am from Argentina and I communicate here with the help of a translator, I don't know how reliable it is. Anyway, thanks, Max. You are incredible and a very good, real person, I value you a lot. Thank you for your sincere thoughts and reflection. 💜

You nailed it..l that’s how I see them. Just that they let us see the normal human side ( not a lot of people want anyone to see that side) but BTS needs to be as real as they can given their circumstances!! Run BTS was the shows that really showed their authentic selves! It’s so amazing in this day and age… that we get to see the idol, artist and human side of them!!

Thank you for voicing out our thoughts so well....someone was so true to say "it's like I have grown another heart while loving BTS" the meaning of this sentence will only be understood by people who are walking this journey of life with BTS, side by side.

Well, I have Chronic Pain Desease, normal medicine doesn't work because of side effects, so, BTS (and crochet) are my literal pain medicine. They take my inner analgesic sistem and make it work so I can take my mind of the pain and feel loved by their music and message. I hope I explained myself correctly...english is not my first language. Borahae!!💜
