Going deeper into the arm path and trajectories!
How we get to the ball and where we contact it will determine the path. The Spike Throws (ball or tennis ball) is a great way to work on certain parts of the Spiking Sequence without having to worry so much about timing and accuracy. You can focus on using and separating each action. In this video the focus is on the path of the arm that's a result of the previous phases. The Reverse S Curve builds up to put the shoulder in an optimal position and makes the arm come up and around on the ball to get an optimal trajectory on the ball.
So overall, not only is this one of the drills to get the feeling of having a patient arm and separation of the whole sequence, but also practice the reverse s curve and arm coming up and around. Pieces to the puzzle.
Keep working at it! 📈
