My family and I were there that day! I was but four, but it has been a lasting impression. I think that was the day, they took advantage of the crowd, and soft opened The Haunted Mansion for a time (I remember a buzz and excitement of " The Haunted House is Open") We sat up on the second floor of the Carousel Theatre to watch the moment of Neil Armstrong. I also remember a TV inside Captain Hook's Galley in Fantasyland, but somehow, I think it was always there. I'm sure if I watch this enough times I can perhaps spot my family, although I do remember being very much in the back of the crowd.

Was the large projection tv they had in the park pretty decent in terms of 1969 tech? If it was 2021 tech and HD that's diff just asking

@@scorpiontx91 It was an RCA Prototype. A standard set for the time hooked into already existing rear screen projection technology. Picture wise, the center looked decent but fuzzy around the edges (a picture that improved over time....it only took 5 years to have the first sets on the market(

Awesome video. I'd imagine if Walt was still alive, he would be impressed with the current state of the Space Program and SpaceX.

Really excellent work with this one, Jordan. This is a new insight I was completely clueless to. Also, Rocket to the Moon sounds like a really cool ride. Wish they would bring something like that back, an attraction that incites wonder into Tomorrowland.

For sure. While I'll be the very first to confirm that pizza does indeed incite a great amount of wonder in me... I can't quite agree that Redd Rockett's Pizza Port is the best use of that real estate. Thanks for the kind words, John!

Thanks, Jenny! I've developed an obsession working on this project, so I've got a long list of space content to go through 🤣 ...and The Right Stuff is definitely on the list.

I was alive that day, but still in utero...my Mom used to tell me she was trying to tell me about it through her belly and I seemed to be responding by kicking up a storm...Who knows? I’m one of the few kids who never really cared much about Space travel, so I kinda ignored a lot of what was occurring with the Space program as I was growing up (mostly the early Space Shuttle period)

I've always maintained a slight interest, but its really lifted off since moving to Orlando. Now I can see most launches from our parking lot and there's something different that happens when you see things hurtling to space in front of you... A mania has kind of developed within me.
