When you stop buying or making product in your own country, then you make no profits. If you buy from China at cheap prices, China makes the money plus they have a workforce that is paid much less than any American will ever lift a finger for. Thus down the road America has no profits and China has most of them. Also China has a long term plan, they don't think about 5 years down the road, they think about 5 generations down the road. In Chinese you have specific ways of speaking of family, who's in laws on who's side and aunts and uncles always represented from who's side of the family, get it wrong, you're shunned. There is an order to everything. Family is everything in China, they don't call it the "Motherland" for nothing. It's amazing to even be able to see ANYTHING from China. The internet keeps it difficult to contain anything from anyone. Vanity and Greed have been the ruin of many.

By contrast, the mall culture has largely died out in the US. I lived in Tulsa and Dallas, it's sad to look at the state of the malls. In South East Asia and East Asia, it's very much a part of their culture, not necessarily driven by profit per say so they naturally thrive anyway; people genuinely enjoy spending a whole day walking inside a mall. In Kuala Lumpur where I reside now, some malls feel more like mini cities than shopping centres, a bridge or underground pass would connect adjacent two mega malls with subway entrance in between, shops/ cafes each step of the way. And it's not all indoor, you have long stretching outdoor areas/mezzanine walkways with gardens, fountains, bars and what not. You often get very lost but there's always staff to point you to the right way. Since google map doesn't work inside, sometimes the complexity of directions can be quite overwhelming. Yesterday I cleared 10k steps all inside a mall lol, more than half of the time getting absolutely, mindlessly lost. Still, all part of the fun! ( Just remembered I quite like how in Tokyo, many facilities such as clinics, dentists, government department outposts can all be found inside malls, it saves a lot of time getting things done since you don't need to drive for miles just for each individual thing as in the US)
@TimeWalker
Жыл бұрын
Yes I also think that in such a large mall you can find almost any store you need and you don't need to drive for kilometers to the store you need where you can do all your things and buy what you want There are many such large shopping malls in Shenzhen, which have gradually developed in the past 20 years. In addition, such large shopping malls are also very popular in other cities in China.

Wow! I am in shock and awe looking at this footage. The design of this mall leaves me with a child-like sense of wonder, especially with that "escalator to heaven" at 4:55 and the "musical stairs" at 21:10. I wish we had malls this amazing here in the USA; this definitely puts the Mall of America to shame. That's even considering that the Mall of America has an entire theme park inside. There's tons of restaurants and entertainment options in addition to the "usual" mall fare found in an American mall. Most American malls just try to cram as many (primarily) clothing stores in them as possible, with some restaurants here and there, along with possibly a movie theater. Some American malls do have additional entertainment options in addition to a movie theater, sometimes kid-oriented stuff like KidZania (as is the case at Stonebriar Centre in Frisco, TX; aside from this, Stonebriar seems more oriented towards adults instead of families with children). Many mall-owning companies in the USA aren't willing to change the formula; other countries, like the UK and Australia, tend have a more diverse lineup of retail and services than your typical American mall.
@Theodorapaye

You can’t compare this mall to our mall here in America. We are not in competition with this mall owner. If you trying to bring down our mall sorry this will never work cause we are the best and will always be. Maybe you need to build your own mall and see how it’s to build something that’s so valuable and amazing. Mall of America is very special and important to the world. Not everything shining is better something the bigger things can be a disaster. Not everything that greater is golden. Again we are not in competition with Chana.
