Richmond Bridge is the oldest bridge in Australia that’s still in use; it was built by convicts in the 1820s. Take a walk along the river, feed the ducks and admire this fantastic bridge.
The Richmond Gaol is the oldest in Australia. It was built in 1825 and was in use until 1928; it is now open daily for self-guided tours.
St. John's Church was built in 1836 and is Australia's oldest Catholic Church, which is still being used.
Wander along the Heritage walk and learn more about Richmond village's most important historical sites.
There are many fantastic cafes, bakeries and galleries in the village, including a Chocolate shop, a Lolly shop and a Gingerbread shop.
You can also visit Pooseum, an interesting and educational ‘poo’ museum and see Old Hobart Town, an award-winning historical miniature village.
A short drive from Richmond, you can discover Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, where you can get up close to the Tasmanian devils, wombats, and quolls and hand-feed the kangaroos.
