I left the game running overnight fighting Kecleons (for 37 game hours, way longer than is actually possible in normal play) to try to further prove that the Amber Tear does not work for recruiting Kecleon (and it doesn't, only Golden Mask works), but somewhere along the way the game got seriously overloaded and ended up in this broken state. Until the dungeon is refreshed, turns take upwards of half a minute, sounds are partially broken, and animations barely work. Not only that, any attempts to escape the dungeon seem to just crash the game.
There does not seem to be a way to safely recover from this state. Thankfully this does not stand any chance of happening in normal play.
