The timer you found next to the tub was for the heat lamp above it. Those bathroom heat lamps installed in the ceiling were popular in the 80's in hotel room bathrooms and some home bathrooms (my old man installed one in the bathroom back then). Some older hotels still have the heat lamps in their bathrooms.

Such a beautiful mansion. The interior was soothing to the eyes. The exposed wooden beams on the ceiling in the living and dining room area gave a kind of rugged, yet soft touch to a rather harsh looking concrete wall. Amazingly, the mansion was still in a spick and span condition, even after being left abandoned, probably prior to be demolished. At 10:23 even after the baseboards had been stripped off, there were no sign of any debris. The owner must had taken great pain to leave the house in such a way ,neat and clean, unlike most home owners who moved house with the house looking like a scene from a ship wrecked. Nice looking kitchen with pinewood kitchen cabinets. Although the kitchen was not as spacious as most mansion kitchens normally were, in a way it was a blessing in disguise. It's much easier to do the cleaning chores after cooking. Thanks Riddim Ryder.

This is just gorgeous! My house had a ton of knotty pine in it. It was built in the 40s. It had thick knotty pine paneling (not the thin stuff: really thick), knotty pine kitchen cabinets, a few knotty pine built in bookcases, and my family room had the entire CEILING done in knotty pine.

I think the room with the laundry next to the kitchen is kind of part of the kitchen since it's really big for a mud room. I can see a big farm table back there to work and eat lunch at. The corner windows in the office were pretty popular in the 40's-60's. I love knotty pine and that house has lots of it.

Thermostat next to the timer in the master bath is most likely for the baseboard heating. My country house has baseboard electric heat in every room, and every room has the same thermostats to control each baseboard heater. I noticed there was a baseboard heater next to the big tub. :)

Great observation noticing the ungrounded receptacles; that dates the electrical system to be late 1950s or older. The thermostat in the master bathroom is likely for the baseboard which is by the Jacuzzi tub. I found it funny when you mentioned the back door into the bathroom would be convenient if your are in the pool and need to "poop". This immediately made me think if you need to pee, you just stay in the pool. ;)

The Knotty Pine paneling was real popular during the ’60s in the US. Sad to understand the home would be torn down as it isn't in bad shape. The room off the one bedroom may have been a play room for a child if not a nanny room.

Why don’t or didn’t those places just get sold, or taken over by the province or state then sold by it. It’s just so unfortunate and depressing to watch those places that were once home to people and cared about at one time just sit there and do nothing but be left untouched, deteriorate (as seen in some of your other videos), grow mold (as seen in some of your other videos) and etc. I love those 40’s-50’s homes, they have more character and houses were pretty much better built back in the day. It’s clear to me that till the 90’s, houses were built stronger and quite a bit better. They took the time and put better time into them. Now a days, they just pretty much throw them up, since 2010 on, that’s what it seems like.
