A little bit of old home here, at the 9:55 mark, you passed what was 1 of only 2 middle schools in Decatur when I was a kid: Brookhaven Middle School. Yes, built on a landfill...and the Aquadome was a great place to go swimming, back in the day ( in this case, up to mid 1973). Even passed the street I lived on then, Westwood Drive. Much later, I lived south of Montgomery, true, but no comparison due to the differences in time. 😊

I live in Decatur and it is a nice little town. Like all towns we have good areas and bad. Some of the area you went through is a bad area and has a lot of crime and you know to stay out of there. The Hispanic I think is treated very well. They have several businesses here and grocery stores and restaurants and are hard working. We have a family !living across the street and they fit in very well. Prices are great here like housing and utilities. I have lived here since 1969. It is the perfect size for me.

We lived in both Montgomery and Huntsville, but it was in the mid to late 1980s. Liked both places. Liked the geography and climate of Huntsville a little better. Even way back then the housing in Huntsville was probably a little higher. But we enjoyed both areas. You guys do a good job. I hate when someone drives thru a town with no commentary or only show downtown. A suggestion for a future video would be Fort Smith, Arkansas. We're considering moving that direction. Thanks

Me and my family are from Decatur. Most neighborhoods here are pretty integrated. There's definitely a bad part of town but I would say that every where you go you'll meet someone that'd help you if you broke down and someone who could care less. We have a litter problem for sure. And our leadership tends to care a little more what outsiders think than about us. But at the same time we have a good bit to do at any given time. The car culture here is awesome. Motorcycle culture is even better. We do have a few Harley snobs but most dont care what you ride. Musicians are everywhere. Hip hop, Spanish style music, country, rock, doesn't seem to matter. I love em all. I have only met a handful that were not willing to front porch it and talk all day. No matter color. Thats anywhere tho. I personally love it. But we got some work to do. I really enjoyed your video!

I grew up in Decatur. It used to be a beautiful town, everyone took pride in their homes and yards. The lawns were always kept neat and mowed. Decatur was in a dry county until the late 70's. I am not racist. But what I am going to say will sound racist to many people but it is what it is and I am calling out what is true. Decatur is divided in four sections North East, South East, North West and South West. White people lived in all four sections as the town progressed. The Black People always lived in the North West section mostly their choice because at the time Decatur was small and the population was small. Decatur couldn't grow to the North because of the river so it grew mostly South West. The people that made this video must be Hispanic because they reference it many times and also make a little fun of Alabama but that is okay. We are a proud people. However what I can tell you is that I get along well with Hispanic people as there are different cultures of Hispanics. Like in all of the races, you have good ones and not so good ones. My point being I suppose is what I noticed that rubbed a little. My old neighbor hood wasn't extremely wealthy but it was kept up nice and neat. Most of the houses and lots were cookie cutter houses and usually had a concrete patio for cookouts and family parties. Then in the 80's Hispanics started trickling in and by that time the County voted in to be wet with alcohol sales. Even when dry it was still wet but in secret. But then the nice yards disappeared because the Hispanics had to move in the grills to the front yards instead of the built in patio's. They put the kiddy pools up in the front yard. There would be three families living in the same house. three or four cars would be all over the grass. It would not be mowed. Parties in the front yard , loud music, everyone sitting in lawn chairs all over drinking beer with open containers. Trash everywhere. Our nice subdivisions disappeared. Property values tanked. And you guys are in Real Estate. You should know what I mean You may not appreciate my post but you are the one's looking for Hispanic businesses and areas. Do you get the point? We were not used to that

I have absolutely no idea what your talking about because Miami now has real estate values higher than any other city in USA even Los Angeles and New York. beautiful palm trees, expensive real estate and yes we party till 2 AM. You Alabama people are as boring as it gets, your artifacts are flags of hate.. our artifacts are guitars to rejoice our hearts. California, Texas and Florida the most beautiful places everyone wants to live in.. by the way all 3 of these states even have Spanish names. Alabama, litter, abandoned buildings, hate and the lowest real estate values. Any city with a spanish name is 1. expensive 2. clean 3 growing and everyone wants to live there. Alabama is the butthole of america after it got diareah in taco bell

If you wouldn't have broken the law and taken a right turn out of Starbucks like the sign says "right turn only". If you go 1/2 mile down you would have passed by the Catholic Church they have services in spanish and english and thie nighborhood you passed through is closer to 40% hispanic in my opinion. I live very very close.
