Our time on the east side of Ireland was filled with adventure! Even though we couldn’t get a tour of Brú na Bóinne, we really enjoyed visiting the museum portion of the visitor’s center. Right down the road, the ruins of Old Mellifont Abbey were quite pretty and we had a nice time walking around. Dublin was a city we loved getting to explore. Being able to walk from Trinity College to the Temple Bar area all in an afternoon was quite convenient. Taking the train from Dublin to Bray was the perfect morning activity. The city is beautiful and has plenty to do whether you enjoy taking things slow or something a bit more athletically challenging. Ending this portion of the trip with a visit to Blarney Castle was amazing. We can now say we have the gift of gab after kissing the Blarney Stone! The castle and the grounds themselves were stunning, even if you don’t want to kiss the rock.
