Fished lots of grayling and one thing worth noting is that they don't last well in a catch basket before they start to go bad. Best way is to salt and pepper and slap a bit of butter in a piece of foil

A tip for fishing spoons, you can fish them with flies. Tie a fly about a 2 feet off the back of your spoon, spinner or jig. You’ll catch a bunch

Nice job man! Stunning fish, I’d love to send you some flys if you were interested in doing some more fishing with them. I’d love to see you try out a day of fly fishing and see how you like it, I find creek fishing with dry flys is the most fun and exiting fishing on the fly. There’s just something about those small creeks that make those wild trout fight crazy!

I'm not sure either BUT arizona game and fish has a trout map that contains info on where all trout/char are around az. It has grayling listed too. The three places I know of are Ackre lake, lee valley resevoir, and kaibab lake.
