You shoot a video so beautifully that I really wanted to visit Russia. And then I realized that I have been living in Russia all my life.

Hey Ricardo, UK here, looks like you had a blast in Russia. I studied Russian in Kazan in 1994. It did not have a multitude of cafes, bars or shopping malls back then, although there was a semblance of western culture sprouting amid the post Soviet chaos at that time. There were 12 of us UK students living with Russian host families in small apartments like your air bnb. Our favourite host lady who mothered us all took us to the Blue Lakes for a picnic. Your journey through the forest brought back lots of memories, thank you! 😮😊👍👊💥

I would love to visit again sometime. I agree the changes since 1994 are magnificent. In 1994 I lived in 3 different apartments on Ibragimovo, Yamashevo and in Sozgorod. All the very best to you.

Oh, I’m watching this video from May 2023 and the Blue Lakes have changed greatly since 2022! There are recreational zones, tables for picnics, WC, parking zone, illumination… Dogs stay the same))) but the greatest change is the waterfall!! I wish I could send you a picture or a video. We go to the Blue Lakes very often

@Ricardo J..Posada: Ricardo, when you go, at the Tretyakov Museum in Moscow there is an incredible oil painting titled Moonlight Night on the Dnieper - Лунная ночь на Днепре by Arkhip Kuindzhi. At times it has been on display at the Russian Museum on Arts Square in St. Petersburg. The images I’ve been able to find online are of washed out poor quality. I photographed it at low resolution with a now outdated iPhone 6+ In 2017. I will send you that image by Instagram direct e-mail with more description. Meanwhile check out its history on Wikipedia.

1:10 Under the Soviet regime, Peter and Paul Cathedral was turned into a planetarium. 35 years ago, I was brought to this beautiful building by my first teacher. They showed us the stars and planets, told us that Gagarin flew into space, but did not see any god there, because there is no god. The USSR fought with God and collapsed.
