After Bourbon tasting and back roads bike riding in Kentucky I made the trip farther south east to Knoxville Tennessee to check out a few MTB trails I have been hearing a lot about lately.
Baker Creek Preserve is where I ended up and spent a whole afternoon exploring all that I could. The weather was perfect and the trails I found were even better. Perfectly carved flow and jump line trails from top to bottom and a beautiful asphalt pump track paradise in the middle.
From the green Cruze Valley trail to the double black diamond Devil's racetrack the stoke was super high. The amount of fun and features packed into each trail is incredible and I've never experienced such a great "bang for your buck" when it comes to climbing versus downhill. All the trails are intuitive and you can trust the trail builders not to send you off into the trees with too much speed.
Also once again I was lucky enough to meet a few very helpful local riders who always improve the overall experience. Huge shout out to Tom from Colorado for helping get my tire sorted and to Daniel from Knoxville for showing me all the local hot routes.. thank you guys so much.
