After leaving the Keage Incline, I made my way over to the Nanzenji temple complex with its stunning lecture hall and aqueduct. I made my way slowly up to the Philosopher's Path which meandered along a small canal lined with Sakura in bloom. Absolutely beautiful! I then tried to walk to the Imperial Palace, but found the distance too great so after a quick stop at a Lawson's convenience store, I hoped on a bus. I arrived at the south end of this massive park and made my way up to the Imperial Palace only to discover it would be closed for the next ten days. But it was far from a wasted trip: the Sakura trees at the north end of this park are the loveliest in the city and they were in full regal bloom!
