Welsh architect Clough Williams-Ellis constructed the lovely Portmeirion Village from 1925 to 1973. Some of the more mature viewers may recognise Portmeirion Village as the backdrop for the 1960's cult classic series, The Prisoner, starring Patrick McGoohan.
