I was born and raised in Riverside. I remember some of the buildings in the Chinese area off Tequesquite (spelling), and in 1968 rode my bicycle there (we lived not far from Mt. Rubidoux) and met Mr. Wong and visited with him. My folks would take us kids to Chun King from time to time. It seemed so exotic compared to us being familiar with Mexican food.

Chunk King was the best! I can still see that fried shrimp on my plate from the 50's and 60's!

I was born and raised in Riverside. My mother was born there and lived until her passing. According to her, Chinatown was burned down by anti- Chinese

I'm born and raised in Riverside as well, unfortunately I can't afford to live in my city. There's a Lil Chinese market on magnolia and Bandini is that a original store? It's pretty old.

After watch Doctor Ing Hay of John Day Oregon, I just had to see this California Community as well!!!. Yes, in the 1940's my own Dad was a patient of Doc Hay of John Day Oregon, and he treated my Dad's Rheumatic Fever, and made it at least go dormant, And my Dad stayed at the VA in Portland for more than a year, after a medical discard from the Army, the VA doctor's in Portland were perplexed. and could not wrap their mind (head) around the enigmatic mystery that my Dad's Rheumatic Fever was in a inactive, or rather a dormant state. What a Miracle Worker Doctor Ing Hay was for my Dad!!! Bless You Doc Hay in Heaven, you were a true ray of healing when you sojourned here amongst us!!!. I hear shouts of adoration in heaven as I declare this in my heart and soul, as a human living on the 3rd planet, called Gaia!!!

Yeah but the leaders of riverside are notoriously stupid when it comes to anything of true class or merit. Riverside couldn't make a true place for itself if all the famous people who've been through, that lived here and died here and were born here, all came together to defend it. Some how Riverside would drop the ball and mess it up. THAT is the true history of Riverside. That of visionless Jackasses in control. Ive lived here my whole life, 42 years.....I know kill me now, but instead id rather research this black hole of logic and let all the WW2 Cold War era toxic dumps surrounding me do the job.

Chinese have never been known for assimilation into countries they migrate to. They set up enclaves and isolate. I've lived in such enclaves as an outsider to have a peek.

@@Batz5150 100% true. Its not as bad as Los Angeles yet, but its getting pretty bad. Meth'd out psychopathic feral ghouls (homeless people) all over.
