Ilongo is not a vernacular instead ilongos are people from Iloilo province....and hiligaynon is the language spoken by the people from Iloilo, Capiz, Guimaras, Negros Occ. and some parts of Mindanao Island.....

@insiderob That watery and crunchy rounded root stuff you were eating is " singkamas" in Ilongo dialect, but in the U.S. it is called " jicama " and could be used as salad ingredient, and it also could be cooked stirred fry as a meal.
