Okay, so the FX Chain re-naming was what I had intended to convey last time we tromped thru the "Name a Splitter" (heated) discussion. I admit I was inadvertently confusing the two. You can't, currently, name a splitter. But you can engage it in an FX Chain and name that. It ain't the same. I know. Can you ever forgive me?

I am waiting for the expansion of this so it becomes a modular system by adding/combining instruments, effects and modulators (LFO, S&H, Envelopes, etc.) to modulate parameters of the plugins. I'm also missing the ability to automate gain of the different paths of the splitter. This is useful to sometimes gradually dialing in some delay or reverb. Mixtool goes only to -24dB which is not enough.

Such a normal mixing techniques today, is the ability to use the original source as a sidechain to itself. Mostly used with wet effects, where you for instance duck/sidechain reverb or delay when the original source is playing. The splitter would be amazing for exactly this, but it is not possible Now.. This is really keeping me away from the splitter for instance. This is also a normal feature in some of the other DAWs that have rack/chains like this. for example abelton effect rack has this feature that you can sidechain the reverb to dry signal...fl studio patcher also has it... please make this feature avaible in next updates.thanks alot.

Hi Joe, good video as always however have I missed something, there is nothing new here right? Everything shown in this video is exactly how its been for years in S1pro, the only change I can see is that you now have a visual in the mixer channel that It has a splitter, from a sound design angle (and a feature request i submitted years ago) I was really hoping for the splitter sliders to be assigned automation, link a midi controller to the slider and etc. But whats changed is you can see a splitter in the channel and thats it, which was easily compensated for by naming conventions anyway, I got excited with the 'new splitter tool' announcement, is this it?! (Don't get me wrong the splitter is fantastic and have been using it for years and I have heaps of fx chains saved using it so I am definitely thankful for it, but not really seeing anything new).

when splitter splits the audio is it also splitting the audio strength..? (split into 2 so each split receives 50% of the audio strength) or does it multiply the audio into each split equally..?

You are right, just turn the left (original) channel up by 6 db, which will double the volume. This way you compensate that split. Then add your parallel.

That mute option for each channel should have a circuit icon even when the circuit is closed. Like a dot with a circle around it. Otherwise, it's not intuitive that you are able to click on the line to mute it.

I see how it tries to be like Ableton's instrument rack. But how do you balance out continuously what portion of the signal goes to each side (like 80:20, 79:21,... ) ? And be able to automate it as well? I didn't get how you would assign the splitter to an automation lane. Can you assign the splitter levels to a macro knob using the macro as a dry/wet knob? I purchased 5.2 pro and I'm a bit lost.

Ok. I'm becoming really frustrated with 2 things about PreSonus: 1- Studio One Artist version: A) Is missing lots of features that the EARLIER versions had. B) So you now have to either buy those features like 'amps' or spend hundreds more for the Pro upgrade. (So Studio 5 is really... a downgrade). 2) Many of those who represent PreSonus on YT instructional videos DO NOT SAY you need the Pro version before sending thousands of us on a wild goose chase to see if there is something wrong with our system. It would really be helpful if in future such features were announce as Pro or not... before the video lesson. That said- This Splitter is only available in the Pro version. Thank you.

Hello there. I want to know if personas is even thinking of addressing the issue with the roli equator plug-in. It seems that every time you hit an overlapping note it cuts off the last note hit ..That is not normal behavior for this plug-in. It works fine in ableton live 11 and also in reaper. So it’s not a driver issue or VST issue…. The issue started when they switched over from version four to version five. And the issue with the MPE feature Studio five.. please share if there’s any updates to this issue ..Thank you..
