Without these old decaying sticks and cracked cement foundations we just might forget how it used to be! History is important! I spend most of my free time in the photographic archives.. such a wonderful and inspiring bygone era full of hard work, and goals met and dreams lost... I LOVE IT! Thanks for bringing me to this forgotten place as I may have not seen it otherwise! Great Job!

Thanks Jeff, I did not know about the Chemung Mine. It is only nine miles from Bridgeport, CA that I travel through on CA 395 several times a year to see the grandkids in Truckee. I will checkout the mine area. I got out to the Cargo Muchacho Mountains last weekend. I found two small nuggets. The desert detecting season has finally arrived. ⚒️🌴🇺🇸🌴⚒️

Always have someone with you when exploring... Ever enter a mine with collapsed shafts and wonder ?? Did everyone make it out before it collapsed? Was it a crew working it when it collapsed...or did it come down on some recent adventurous explorer ? @ Smithsgold From Missions to Mines always well done sir 👍 😎

it was more dangerous walking around on the surface than in the mine I think but being aware of the surroundings and going slow helps. I cant help but think it will all be gone lost forever to time and Mother nature if I can help keep a part of it alive then I've done my part in saving a small piece of history

A very cool old mine Jeff . It's sad to see the old structures falling down , when ultimately the History will be lost forever , it is such a shame . Where i prospect there were many structures like this , but over time were demolished to use the timber again , or Bushfires destroyed them . All we have now are Photographs . It would be great if somehow they could be preserved , but i think sadly it won't happen . Anyway thanks for sharing , such a peaceful Adventure mate 👍✔. Cheers Ned . ✌
