The Crossroads Mall in Portage, Michigan opened in the summer of 1980 with two anchor stores, JCPenney and Hudson's, and around 100 smaller shops. Over the course of the 1980s, a Sears and a Mervyn's were added, though those two spaces are currently vacant. The JCPenney store seems to be doing well, and the Hudson's was converted into a Macy's. While the food court is essentially deserted, the rest of the mall is faring decently overall, with at least half of the space currently occupied.
