Opened in 1970 the Genesee Valley Center Mall in Flint, Michigan was built by the Hudson Company which was famous for its Hudson's Department Stores. Of course Hudson's would become one of the original anchors along with Sears in addition to 50 smaller shops within the malls. Over the years the mall slowly expanded adding a second story food court along with two more anchor stores JC Penney and Montgomery Ward. Today the mall sits about halfway abandoned with only JC Penney and Macy's remaining as anchor stores, a completely dead food court and empty storefronts scattered throughout.
