EXPLORING the GULF of CARPENTARIA continues as we leave Manangoora Station and head to KING ASH BAY .
We park up at King Ash Bay on the mighty McArthur River for just over two and a half weeks and do a whooping 1200 plus klms in our 3.7 metre Tinny .
King Ash Bay fishing club is around 50 kms past Borroloola and with 500 acres of land leased from NT Government there is plenty of room for camping .
There is fuel and a mini mart for all your needs and if you don't feel like cooking there is the Groper Bar and Grill that is open for Lunch and Dinner .
King Ash Bay is a fisherman's paradise with a huge diversity of fish to be caught , Barramundi , Mangrove Jacks and Queenfish just to name a few .
The McArthur River is a huge system spanning 521 klms with hundreds of little creeks forking of everywhere.
We loved our stay here and even won some prizes at the last fishing comp for the year .
