A trip out to Sunderland happens quite often but haven’t done a ETR vlog for a while so here is one for you!
Am moving away from doing these videos every time, just the important or interesting trips will be done as a vlog video. The rest will be done as real time onboard journeys like the section from my recent trip to Scarborough and Bridlington.
Anyway, it is a straight forward one today, starting at Hartlepool we board the 1103 Hexham service which was formed of 156486.
It was a lot less busy since the addition of the “express” service every 2 hours between Middlesbrough and Newcastle. These services stop at Thornaby, Hartlepool & Sunderland only. This was introduced after we got the new platform thanks to investment from the Tees Valley Mayor, Ben Houchen.
Coming back, because of the time that we left at it was a Grand Central service first. We caught the 1530 service which ran non-stop back to Hartlepool. We actually had the carriage pretty much to ourselves which gave for a smooth journey back down to Hartlepool.
