Of all the cities and towns in Romania's Transylvania region none is more popular than Brasov, nestled at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains and with its well-preserved Old Town steeped in medieval splendor.
Although it’s easy to hop a bus to get just about anywhere here, the most favored form of transportation is walking, considering that so much is accessible by foot and to do otherwise would be to miss the point of Brasov’s charm.
If pounding the pavement becomes too much, one is always well-advised to take the chairlift up Tampa Mountain, where one can commune with nature while enjoying splendid views of the city on all sides.
