@@Yoenosh As of right now, I'll actually mainly use it to disassemble stuff to scavenge for parts or metals, as I cast metal and old electronics are my main source of copper. Some screws make it hard to scavenge for parts or to get deeper into it, and this kit will help for sure. Previously I have repaired an old iPhone and my old laptop, stuff like that, so I do want to be prepared to be able to fix pretty much anything I need to. The only thing I don't think I would wanna fix is some Nintendo products like the 3DS line. Those are the most complicated of anything that I've seen. Not that I can't fix it if I watched a video, but it's quite risky compared to everything else I've seen.
@Yoenosh

@@AlexWithAStar That’s actually very cool. I’ve only worked on cellphones, one laptop, and a microphone but I’ve always had the tool I needed to get into it. I’m starting to sound like a shill but I’m happy with the toolkit. I was actually wanting to fix a 3DS next so that’s something to look to. I think the complicated stuff is if it’s a board-level issue. At this point I’m good with just replacing parts. Hope you like it.
@AlexWithAStar

@@Yoenosh I had a 3DS since a few months after it came out, and I bought a New 3DS XL and was gonna replace the shell due to scratches, but after watching videos I'm not wanting to deal with ribbon cables, and to replace the inner shell, you have to take the entire board, screen, and buttons out; take the entire device apart.. Nintendo will replace everything that's scratched or broken (nothing is broken that I know of but screens and the shell are scratched) for only $95 including shipping (tax not included) and personally I prefer in this case to just go the safe route. If Nintendo wouldn't fix it, then I'd fix it myself. I fully believe I have the ability to if I watch videos, but my goal is longevity for the device and restoring it to be brand new since the condition it's in isn't to the standards of a device I own would be in after these many years. My normal 3DS is in much better cosmetic condition. If I would've known how cheap Nintendo would repair it rather than charging $50 or so per repair like Apple, I'd have bought one broken and sent it in, because they'll even replace it if needed. I could've bought a broken one on eBay and sent it into Nintendo for about the same price I bought this scratched one for.
@Yoenosh
3 жыл бұрын
@@AlexWithAStar I can understand that. Honestly ribbon cables aren’t so bad as long as you’re gentle with them. I was nervous about replacing the battery in my MacBook because it was so involved but it boils down to following directions and not panicking. But you’re right, sending it in is a safe option. If you’re wanting to fix other electronics I recommend the iFixit guides (like this www.ifixit.com/Device/Nintendo_3DS_XL_2015 for example). I find it easier than following along a KZitem video.
