I never do puckerbutt river crossings like that on the way in anymore, because I know at the end of the day, I’ll NEVER have the juice to make it back across on the way home!

Hi Gareth, great videos. Curious to know how access to a section of river can be closed when you are clearly within the Queen's Chain and therefore have the right to be there under a statute of NZ law?

Something to do with riperian rights?? What ever that is
@daviddew2749

It means the landowner owns to the edge of the river or sometimes to the centre line of the actual river. In that case the landowner has ad medium filum aquae rights. These exist in lots of places in NZ.

Thanks for that Gareth and David. Just had a look at an old NZ Herald article that came up on google. Always thought the Queen's chain applied to all of NZ. Only about 60% in reality. Cheers
