Awesome video really enjoyed it ! Fast times reference in the beginning , And it's been a long long time since we've heard the monotone " There goes the monorail " And I remember that steam locomotive that you were referring to, they called it the runaway train , The tram that you road on would stop on the track, it seemed as if the train was going to ram the tram , I'm older than you guys so I experience that and the collapsing bridge , thank you !!

With you talking over the tour guide, kind of reminds me of that I love Lucy episode where Lucy gets on the tour bus and keeps talking and finally the tour guide puts the microphone up to her mouth 😁😂 Wow, they've had that flooding scene for so long, that's one thing I remember when I went in 1975 on my School field trip.

That is *NOT* the mechanical shark that was part of the Universal Studio tour in the late 70's. 33:40 I have an excellent, memorable, scary photo of the shark. The teeth are much more pronounced, and it came much closer to the tour bus. It was part of the Ten Commandments tour, where the tour bus parts the sea.

I can remember when Universal Studios Tours opened to the public. We went shortly after and I still have the pictures. They had props from the Land of the Giants?” old tv show. And it was during the days where you would dress up to go to places so I’m in my little pink dress with my family. This makes me want to take that VIP tour. Unfortunately, I’m just a poor teacher and I have to really think about that cost Lol. It’s nice to live vicariously through you and this was a great video.

Adam, I never knew this VIP tour existed. I remember taking the Universal tour in the 1970’s as a kid. My favorite was the Collapsing Bridge. The Western and little town/ Monster movie set brought back memories of watching The Wolfman, Frankenstein, etc on Saturday afternoons on tv on channel 5 or 9 in SoCal. Like you, I grew up loving old Hollywood movie magic and special effects.

Growing up in the Philippines & watching a lot of American films & show I was in awe (& mildly teary eyed) the first time I went to the tram tour of Universal Studios and seeing the sets & characters that I only saw in the small & big screen. I miss the animatronic King Kong though. I only got to see it once & I remember it's banana breath lol. Enjoyed your video. I highly contemplated doing it the last time I went to Universal but I didn't cause I spent so much on merch!

Hi - This is my first time revisiting the Universal backlot (via your video) since 1973. Much has changed. One of the cool things about the tour in 1973 was that the actors currently working on the set would visit the people taking the Universal backlot tours. Times were different in 1973, much more laid back. My favorite part of the 1973 tour was visiting the set of "Airport" which was released 3 years earlier in 1970. The Psycho house was in much better condition in 1973 than it is today. Universal used to keep everything on their backlot tour cosmetically up to date so that it looked exactly on the tour as it was in the movies. Thank you much for your video, Adam!

I’ve taken the back lot studio tour several times. The first time was back in 1965 or thereabouts when all there was was the studio tour there was no amusement park the last time I took the VIP tour was 2004 and the price was around $200 if I remember correctly. I particularly liked the unrestricted access to the prop house. I still have a picture of the Maltese falcon. The flash flood has been there since the 60s. This brings back many good memories

When I was 9 yrs old back in 1985 my grandparents flew me out to stay with them in Los Angeles for the summer (my first time in LA). They took me to Universal Studios Hollywood and its something I still remember fondly to this day. The subway earthquake/flood part in this video was a Battlestar Galactica experience back in the 80's. You get "captured" by the Cylons and rescued by the good guys. It was an amazing experience for me since I loved that show.
