@@stumpdmagic1261 there isn’t any beautiful visual though. The visual is just an obviously plastic/rubber type material that is put on a finger and hidden. It doesn’t even look like real melted metal, the color and texture is off. This would be fine for something sold at a gag store for a few bucks but have you seen what they are selling this for? Ridiculous. Now a ring made of galium (or however that’s spelled) that would actually melt in your hand would be cool and worth the asking price. This though? @DrDoge.
Ай бұрын
Otherway around, but, it isn't a full trick. For better explanation, you do this with other tricks. So you can have them in an environment where they don't really care about methods. Or aren't looking too hard at your hands. Also, irl you won't have your hands a few inches from someones face, only from a foot or so away. Or whatever the normal distance from standing from people is. If it doesn't work then clearly with how you presented it, they were more focused on figuring it out instead of enjoying it.
@timdoyon1964

@@DrDoge. It reminds me of a prank I saw on tv many many years ago, where a professor in school told the students you could detect what illness somebody has by tasting their pee. He then stuck his index finger into a cup of pee, stirred it around for a second, and then stuck it in his mouth which grossed everyone out. Of course what they didn’t notice is that he actually stuck his middle finger in his mouth. Classic bait and switch. It is similar also to how a magician “throws” a ring onto his finger tip. You just switch one finger for another. I can see why people will like this trick, but for me it is just too obvious. I guess people don’t notice him hiding his finger (the one with the gimmick) in his fist.

Not at all. All we’re doing is showing what props they receive. This is common place in the magic industry. What neither myself nor the creator are doing are showing the ACTUAL secret to what makes sleight of hand based illusions like this work. The tips, nuances, timings, misdirection and clever methods. That’s not to say that I don’t understand your point though and I applaud you for standing up for protecting the secrets of magic. It’s just with some products people buy them because they are fooled and can’t work them them out. With other items, they’re products for workers and before they hand over a subjectively large amount of money, they want to see what they’re paying for. And rightly so. It’s a minefield of an industry. One of the only ones in the world where the creators and marketers spend a lot of time trying to actively tell you what the product is not. I.e. if a new floating trick comes to the market the ad copy will list everything is it isn’t “no threads, no wires, no magnets etc.” but not tell you what it is actually is. Imagine that with the car industry? “It’s definitely not a red car, yellow, green, pink or blue car.”. So the decision with products like this is not taken lightly. And ultimately, with a product like Liquify, the correct decision was taken to let potential purchasers see what they’re getting for their money. If 1 out of 10,000,000 lay people see this (likely less though if you compare how many KZitem users there are vs. viewers of this video), but 10,000+ magicians benefit and go on to perform thousands of shows using this; then the benefits overwhelmingly outweigh the risk for every party in this equation.
@cromwandelure9901
Ай бұрын
@@LloydB why would any magician buy this though, when the creator and yourself demonstrate a willingness to expose the secret? Whether you intended on it or not you completely exposed this trick in the first seconds. Anyone watching this is now aware that it uses a fake silicone finger tip worn on one finger, and the ring on another finger and all you have to do is hide a finger at a time. You show everything in the box as well, so this is practically the instruction for the trick. I sincerely doubt that a thousand magicians would buy this knowing A: that it has been exposed in KZitem and B: that they’re paying for a secret which is available for free. Any discounts offered to purchases who paid full price, thinking they were paying for a secret? Part of buying a magic trick is knowing that you invested in the secret. That’s why we don’t resell PDFs. You pay for the secret, yet here you’re giving it away
@LloydB

First of all, your comment expressly gives away the secret. Whereas many, many viewers of this video would not have understood the secret (regardless of whether you disagree with me) until reading your exposure. But more so, your logic doesn’t work. If you look at magic products or anything with that point of view that so many things would become seemingly pointless “Why buy a guitar if it’s just some wood and strings and you all you have to do is it hit it with your fingers?!”. “Why read books. They’re just paper with ink on, can your friends just summarize the story?!” What you’re getting with Liquify are the incredibly well made props which will last a lifetime, in a range of colors/variations. Plus, you get access to the EXTENSIVE and in depth tutorial which explains in detail how to get the most of our performing this in the real world. All you need to do is look at the trailer and see how good the reactions are when it’s learned and performed properly. Magic is a performance art. Like music, it’s not about knowing how to play one note, or understanding how the instruments are made; it’s about experiencing the act of performance itself. Magic is not about the secrets. If that were true Magic would have disappeared in a flash after the Masked Magician aired or when Penn & Teller took to the stage. Thankfully, thousands of magicians have already picked up Liquify and performance videos are rolling in from around the world as we speak. So not only do I respectfully disagree with you, the statistics do too.
