You NAILED the difference between 1000 vs Original.

I agree with everything you say, except this. 25:38 "Your not paying for playability" What I think you meant, was your not paying for TONE! But you most defiantly do get a playability difference. For example, I got a brand new LTD 1000. And the frets were poking out just a tad. And it makes it slightly uncomfortable to slide up and down the neck fast. My Alexi Laiho Edwards, and e2 Arrow, are smooth as cutting through warm butter, when sliding around the neck. You get better playability as you upgrade. But not tone. Unless you go down to LTD 200 with the lower quality in house pickups. But for example, the LTD 600 Alexi can come with his custom EMG HZ, and so does the ESP custom shop.

I would agree that an E-ii is basically a guarantee that you will have a near flawless guitar playability wise and a 1000 LTD can go either way. Since there’s so many being produced, there will be variations. Some will be close to an Eii, some will be like the one you described where there are playability flaws. So I understand paying for the Eii to get the guaranteed playability

I think Schecter is very reasonably prices, compared to other brands.

A $500 guitar, through a $5000 amp, will sound better then a $5,000 guitar, through a $500 amp. I think for ESP the Edwards line is the sweet spot. Same price as LTD 600/1000 models. ( Unfortunately prices are rising ) And almost equal quality to ESP branded.

Agreed completely! Yes, Edwards makes some excellent guitars for sure.

@@theguitargrappler9352 Unfortunately, the Alexi Edwards new, is now around $1,800. I got mine new in July 2022 for $1,400. And back in the day, you could get Edwards Alexi new for around $900-1000. So prices are definitely rising. But considering Alexi LTD 600’s go for around $1,600. I still think it’s worth it to get Edwards for $1,800.

@@theguitargrappler9352 I do not think the Alexi e2 at $3,000 is worth it. E2 and Edwards are basically identical in quality.

26:15 that is not true either. e2/ESP standard series, while being real ESP, are still made on a production line. Just made by better trained ESP employees. Not 1-800 rent a worker factory employees, that will make LTD models. But there is still a playability upgrade, between e2 and custom shop ESP. Just like e2 is a big playability upgrade from LTD 1000. With production made, its honestly a gamble. The LTD 1000 I got, with poky frets. If you ordered the same exact model, you might get one, without this problem. But with custom shop, you are in theory, guaranteed to not have these issues. But yes, 100% you will notice a feel/playability difference, between LTD 1000, e2, and ESP custom shop. In general. Individual results can vary. Even botched $6,000 guitars get past inspection sometimes. It happens.

A lot of it has to do with, was it made by a team of luthiers, or on a production line.

I got lucky, and got a e2 Arrow off Ebay for $1,200. I'm telling you, it feels and plays much better then LTD 1000's. e2 are actual ESP. They were just rebranded as e2 in 2013/2014. It used to be ESP standard series. They changed it to e2, to encourage you to buy the $6,000 custom shops, cause thats the only way to get ESP on the head stock now. But e2 is actual ESP, and they are significantly better then LTD. With that being said, are they worth $2,500-$3,500? I say absolutely not! I just got lucky, and took advantage.

That’s a great deal. Yea, I’m familiar with the Eii. I had one and did not care for it unfortunately. I got a good deal used just like you, but it wasn’t up to par. I was shocked because I thought it would be amazing. I’ll have to try another. Yea, the price difference between them and 1000s is way too much imo

@@theguitargrappler9352 Like I said, with production line guitars, it is always a gamble, to some degree. You can buy 10, and the quality will vary. But in my experience, my e2 Arrow is significantly more playable then my LTD’s. But my LTD 1000 was kinda a bad apple. And my other LTD is a Chinese made 2011 400 model. So take that for what it is.

@@theguitargrappler9352 I know Schecter has ridiculous inspection standards. And that is also why, they sell the most B stock. I think LTD could maybe improve inspection standards a hair or two. But again, I would NOT OWN a e2, unless I found a ridiculous stupid good deal.
