This is actually small potatoes. I started medical school during the pandemic and ended up following a story about someone doing so-called "Body Sculpting" procedures. She had been injecting plumber silicone into breast tissue and/or the subcutaneous fat of the butt. It was absolutely devastating for the patients.
@jaleenibear81
3 ай бұрын
@@KirstenMarie_MS3 oh my word! My mother used to tell me that a lot of people back then used the wrong type of silicone to put in their bodies, heck even on an episode of 1000 ways to die, there was a case where a woman got injected oil in her cheeks and then died because the “medical person” had injected the oil in the woman’s bloodstream. But the fact that the rise these procedures are happening at an alarming rate really got me completely baffled. I can imagine the devastation on this topic. :/
@KirstenMarie_MS3
3 ай бұрын
@jaleenibear81 Yeah, the history of breast augmentation and body sculpting procedures is pretty gnarly. I'm gonna take a shot in the dark and guess that the story you saw was about using paraffin oil as a facial filler. It was actually commonly used in the early 1900s to correct certain facial deformities. I think what probably happened is the paraffin migrated rather than being injected directly into a blood vessel. If it manages to migrate into a blood vessel, it can embolyze and end up blocking small vessels, causing stroke, heart attack, or pulmonary embolisms. Another complication was issues with large granulomas and chronic inflammation.

I spent 10 years working as a certified pharmacy technician before deciding to go back to school. I just wanted to point out that legitimate insulin pens do, in fact, use needles. The point of the pen is consistency of dosing, no need to draw the insulin into a syringe from a vial, and smaller needles. Doctors have to write prescriptions for both the pen and the single use "pen needles" that snaps onto the pen. People who have self administered insulin have to be trained by a nurse or pharmacist and injections are done in areas that tend to have more subcutaneous fat, i.e. the lower abdomen, sides of thr thighs, or the butt. My point is these pens do not function like the auto-injector many diabetics use. They can still cause tissue damage eventhough they don't use a needle.

Even before tiktok and social media got as big as they did Black Market Plastic Surgery has always been a problem. The photos will always look nice but you will never know the long term side effects of these procedures until it causes permeant damage or death. Take for example the case of Oneal Ron Morris. I know a lot about physiology and also know all about the dangers of putting anything in, under or through the skin. Not only is everyone at risk of anaphylaxis, but are also at risk from infections which can result in tissue damage, tissue death (necrosis) organ failure and death. And yet people think its ok to inject others with botulinum toxins and various fillers. If they could see how painful, long lasting and often fatal outcomes of injecting substances is, I think they would think twice. People need to be exposed to the downside of these procedures, and to learn exactly how painful hitting nerves can be, and the fact that nerve damage can keep being painful for life! I cannot understand how people think nothing will happen to them, when, in reality, if there's something that can go wrong, it, all too often, will! Thats what I learned in my 66 years on this planet, I would never let anyone (and in reality, don't even trust medical experts since Covid) ever inject me with anything. From the terrible, but non too serious effect from your immune system reacting badly to an injection, (lasts about 6-10 hours of excruciating headache, nausea and often high fever) to the life threatening anaphylaxis or Stevens Johnson syndrome (where your skin blisters everywhere (including your eyes, inside your mouth and throat, everywhere!) which requires emergency room treatment, to the myriad of other things that can go wrong and possibly scar you for life, I, knowing what I know about medicine and biology, would not let anyone do this to me, and would encourage everyone else to be just as cautious. You only have one life, one face, one body, dont let untrained amateurs take them away from you!

If you’re not a doctor or medical professional you shouldn’t be performing procedures 😢. Unfortunately the pressures to look like celebrities will continue to trickle down into the working classes and will continue to create a demand for these “techs”.

Somebody should pay for a "course", but put dirt behind their nails, have no gloves, and then see if they pass the "test." If they do, then thats even worse. It says everything. Somebody needs to investigate this properly.

❤ love the nurse calling them criminals. This is the "Reality Star" syndrome - people becoming famous with no specific talent -- superficial...so now inexperienced people can fit veneers, pump up lips with these pens, etc... Have also heard that the doc who, for 20 years, advised icing injuries, recanted his claims -- icing actually slows down the healing process. True? Don't know , but I can RESEARCH and find out.

Something you missed on your research journey: no license is required to be an injector in Texas. An injector as in doing fillers, Botox, pdo threads, etc. That’s why you’re seeing Houston & Dallas a lot. There’s actual professional looking companies that holds trainings frequently. An MD does the training courses. “My Spa Live” & “Med Spa Live.” They offer medical director coverage which basically means you’re working under a MD & they’ve signed off on the treatment plan. Maybe you can look into them as a follow up video. They seem to offer a lot more than the training the women in your video were. I also found an article that was recent titled “Backroom Botox a ‘wild west’ in Texas.

Thank you for sharing 🙏. I’ve seen the Spa’s you’re talking about, that’s why I didn’t mention them. These girls aren’t qualified, they’re just scammers. Backroom Botox sounds criminal! Oh my goodness! That would be an interesting video topic though 🤍

I don’t get offended easily but I feel offended by them calling themselves “artist” as someone who is going for an art related major. Having the result of someone coming out with Hindenburg lips and misery on their face is not very artistic to me just saying 🙅🏽♀️

I love your no BS attitude. Your natural beauty shines from inside and out. I have no interest in making any kind of cosmetic body modifications. I only participate in medically necessary surgeries and procedures. These are medical processes being administered in non-medical settings by non-medical people for non-medical reasons. All red flags. 🚩

I am so glad I never jumped this train LOL. I have very small lips, not thin, but small. People never commented on them until the filler craze. Friends who got them had major migration, and when they dissolve it, it apparentltly also targets the natural cells too. I got my breasts done when I was 21, was told by the surgeon theyd last a life time. Which we now know is a lie. So ever since then ive been avoiding all these procedures. Id love a smaller nose, a tighter jawline, a bigger butt lol, but ive got by just fine as is. These pens are scary! These filler "techs" along with those "veneer techs", so many people messing with peoples bodies for money without getting the necessary school work first. Its criminal!

I agree entirely with the Hyaluron Pen and having someone perform that procedure on you. People who want these procedures done would be better off becoming a DIYer. Meaning, either get an education to perform botox, fillers, pdo threads, microneedling, skin peels, etc., on others and yourself. Or, educate yourself also learning your anatomy, danger zones, and how to treat your self if you mess up. This includes educating yourself on products. Just know DIYers absolutely cannot perform treatments on anyone but themselve not even a nurse unless it is under the guidance of a doctor. If you want to screw up your own face by all means it's your face but do not screw up someone elses.
