United States Navy destroyer USS John Finn (DDG-113) launched an Extended Range Active Missile (SM-6) at a long-range target, successfully striking the target well beyond the line of sight. This very challenging exercise (a part of Unmanned Integrated Battle Problem (UxS IBP) 21), was executed by the U.S. 3rd Fleet off the coast of San Diego and demonstrates the navy's increasingly sophisticated missile strike capabilities and advantages - particularly the ongoing integration of unmanned elements.
