It's a chain with 3 links, the police, the courts and the prisons. From a criminal perspective 1) the police are lazy, incompetent, corrupt (or a combo box) so the likelihood of arrest is very low 2) the courts are the same, so the likelihood of conviction is also low 3) the prisons the same, holiday camps where criminals get to rest, network and plan ahead for their early release Sadly, all three links in the chain are broken and need to be rebuilt before significant improvements can be realised.....

When I was staying in South Africa, I once went to a salon to do braids and three guys start banging on the salon door and they say to the hairdressers that they should pay money for “safety”. Salon owner paid and the other hairdresser wanted to refuse and they literally said that their salon will be robbed by the following day and they all ended up paying. The ladies said these criminals go to collect money from salons on a weekly basis. I was shocked. The crime rate in SA is too much…and black people suffer the most.

This happened while I was working in construction back in 2017-2018. These guys would come on site with AK-47 demanding that our company gives them tenders by force, some will come and say they will protect our company at a cost. The sad part is that they work together with the police, political leaders and some individuals from private companies. I experience this first hand in KZN. I am alive today because someone was kind enough to tell me to leave KZN as soon as I can as my life was in danger. By luck and by Gods grace he told me he head from the local community that I was treating the local employee's well so the was no need for me to be killed. Two councilors I worked with where shot, one passed away and the other was at ICU when I left KZN. Several site offices and equipment where burned down. I now see this happening all over Mzansi and its sad to see such things.

It has always been a mafia state.. My family is from a construction background in the FreeState..the former premier had put us in a corner with his fees where we couldn't continue working because he wanted 50% of the money for the project itself.. thankfully my father had an idea who he's dealing with..we managed to survive that and we stuck together as a family.. But I'm worried for other families in that area going thru that..do they have the doctors for the stress that comes with it
