Today, I wanted to find a barber shop, but since it’s Sunday, all the shops outside were closed. So, I used the same taxi that brought me from the airport to drive around and find a barber shop. Eventually, he brought me to this mall, which is the most luxurious mall in Papua New Guinea. I got my haircut there, but I was surprised to find out I had to pay more than the locals. I don’t understand this at all. It’s the strangest thing I’ve experienced in any country. Although the extra cost wasn't enough to upset me, I was curious because the barber shop had a price list but didn’t mention anything about foreigners having to pay more.
After the haircut, I went down to the supermarket to buy some snacks for the hotel. I asked my driver if he needed anything, and I offered to pay, but he seemed reluctant to pick out much. This driver is one of the nicest people I've met during my short time in the capital.
I hope everyone enjoys this video to get a feel for the experience of visiting the most luxurious mall in Papua New Guinea.
