That was what happens when things are assembled with haunted bolts. They just fly apart at random. That's why you were jumpy. Nice job as usual mate. I woke up to the lovely sound of a dying venter motor on my water heater... best way to start my weekend.

@@theapprenticesurvivalguide I took the inducer apart... cleaned it up as well as possible and slathered it in 3 in 1 oil. It seems to have calmed it down quite a bit, but it likely needs a new motor soon. I might just be able to stretch it out a bit longer.

We have in service some Armstrong pumps that are over 50 years old. Seals and couplings have been replaced over time, but the motors are all original. The B&G's seem to burn out after 5 years or so.

Just amazing that people still want to keep those archaic, 1950’s style glanded pumps in service for home heating or commercial applications. No speed or pressure controls whatsoever, super high maintenance and gobbling electricity. Started installing Grundfos or Wilo pumps years ago, never heard back of any of them. They just run smooth for decades, even with their sophisticated controls while using only 20-30% of the power (if setup correctly). Keep up the good work! Love watching your videos.

Looks like a rotor was rubing agnist case. So loose nut that grabs rotor to the shaft was primery failure there.

That Impeller decoupled off the Impeller shaft, maybe because of bearing failure due to spring loaded mechanical seal failing and water passing across the seal faces, and the water took out the bearings thus leading to vibration then that nut backed off, rattle rattle rattle , and water took out the motor, as another Heating Engineer would say to Miss Molly," She's a Leaker baby..."

End of the day brain lock is very much a thing. I bet swapping the motors hit your brain about 30 seconds after your head hit the pillow.
