That yak blew our minds starting with the trailer! Thanks for watching!
@kernlkajun1
4 жыл бұрын
The weight is more of an issue, but trailer is a big assist-next buy would be a 50 Amp lithium. I went with a Bixpy but you give up some speed and $. Still great for trolling. Couldn’t get used to the foot steering so opted for pole steering. Why not get a boat? B/c can run the Bonafide Bixpy set up in less than a foot of water or get out and pull it through a shall mud bank or sand bar, put it in the same garage with 2 cars and a 2nd kayak. Use a bed extender with tail lamps, no state tax on motor or kayak, paddle if I want or have to.
@WAEofFishing
4 жыл бұрын
Va and Tx will charge yout taxes of a boat once you put the motor on. I personally, would do a jon boat before doing this to my yak. But I have a big yard and am a kayak purist, paddle for life 😎. Boat still blew my mind!

WAEofFishing FYI be careful of the light weight lithiums they run between 14.8-16.8 volts which can damage your 12 volt trolling motor. And will destroy finer electronics like PWM's. I learned they hard way. $$$$

Might be a voltage regulator on Amazon. But that's getting complicated
@johnrugani9832
5 жыл бұрын
WAEofFishing yes you are right it gets complicated and regulators are not very efficient. When running a trolling motor On a kayak a PWM (pulse width modulator) is awesome. It saves energy and lots of it. But most of all it allows you Complete rpm control of your motor. Instead of speed 1-5 forward and 1-3 reverse like all trolling motors have you have from 0-100% which means You can go slow enough to fish docks and shore lines without constantly playing with you standard speed controls. Most motors including bixpy and torquedo are just way to fast in their lowest speeds.
