This is, to my knowledge, only the second video of a live frilled shark (Chlamydoselachus anguineus) available on the internet, and the only one in existence that shows them as they actually appear in their natural habitat (the only other and much more famous video to capture a frilled shark features a dying one, half paralyzed and likely having drifted up to the surface unknowingly in its old age).
This footage is from the Estuary of the Abyss exploration, conducted by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources with sponsorship from the NOAA, and was observed on August 26th, 2004 in the Blake Plateau, an area at the bottom of the continental slope off the coast of Georgia. Apologies to NOAA for nicking this video from their website, but this has literally never been uploaded anywhere else before!
