The tales that shape life's path are truly inspiring, and Tom Byer's skillful recount of the vital moments that defined his journey is just that. Soccer became Tom's passion from a young age, and it paved the way for his multifaceted career as a professional player, coach, media entertainer, writer, researcher, and consultant. Notable milestones include representing Nestlé MILO as an ambassador at nationwide soccer events in Japan, introducing the Coerver Method to the country, appearing on the popular TV show "Oha-suta," publishing the bestselling book "Soccer starts at home," serving as a soccer ambassador for global corporations, and conducting research on soccer's impact on early childhood development with the Stanford Center. Great interview. I had heard Tom speak before, but this provided many more deep insights into his background. I have a 9 yr old boy who plays soccer, and just like Tom did, now I think a lot about why certain cultures develop better players than other cultures. (We're in the USA, so we are behind most other nations in soccer, and it's clear to me that it's because our youth do not touch the ball enough).

I really appreciate how much time you spent asking about Tom's childhood and family. He overcame so many difficult challenges which is very relatable. I wish I had his book when my children were toddlers!
