Partly because of consolidation in many industries. You don't have to work hard to sell a product when the buyer only has one or two choices.

They probably spent quite a bit to get a real Falcon to fly around for the "Fighting Falcon" promo film. Only for the entire rest of the world to call it the Viper.

I’m pretty sure that real falcons don’t need any financial compensation to fly around, but that getting a real viper airborne would be an extremely pricy undertaking. I think they made the right choice.

I wish my vision was good enough and I wasn't so fat so I could fly these. Since the gulf war I've wanted to be an F-16 pilot. I just fly a desk now.

Despite all the fancy doodads on the modern Vipers, the OG pre-BVR, pre-MFD F-16s are the coolest ones.

@@Tigershark_3082 I've heard though that this is a bit of a myth, as the larger elevators and more powerful engine on the F-16C essentially mitigate the increase in weight. I wish we'd get an F-16A for DCS so we could get some answers on this.

While I'm inclined to agree when it comes to main production models, YF-16A #2 (#72-1568) had a really neat two-tone cloud scheme, with slight off-white and air-superiority blue as the two colors used.

The F-16XL never entered service and it doesn't appear in this video. It was beat by the F-15E.

@@majorborngusfluunduch8694 ' hi M B F... that is okay on both F-15se and F-16xl... both are great jetplanes... F15se with twin jetmotors and very faster speed... F-16xl with single jetmotor and normal speed... also both F / F are good service team together

Iran bought about 75 F-16 then in 1979 in Iran went to Asshole Mode and the US State Department cleared those Aircraft for Israel instead...........Thank God!!!!!
