Such as Shimoda? I have an Action X 30. It’s a great bag!

I just got one of these bags today. I am a large guy that has not lost that 40 lbs. yet and it doesn't fit at all. It might if the shoulder straps were adjustable at all. But, No way will the belt go around my waist. I am sending it back. One of my other bags from Tenba is adjustable in every way and will work fine until f-stop gets this bag fixed...thanks for sharing...

I understand completely and ended up also purchasing the Shimoda Action X50 which is a great feeling bag with a lot of storage space. They have extenders for the waist so they will fit most everyone. Hopefully I can get a review of that one done as well. Thanks for watching!

Possibly one could install a grommet to the inside of the pouch you mentioned that would be better for the water bladder to be placed in and the hose could pass through. Not that anyone would want to have to when you feel like it should be a part of the bag in the first place.

It’s a good idea and installing a grommet wouldn’t be overly difficult. Thanks for watching.

Great review and walkthrough of features, has me very interested but I’ve never owned a bag that didn’t have a removable hip belt so I’m not sure how I feel about that. Curious, how did you go about getting one sent to you for review? Thanks and keep up the great work!

Thanks for watching! I’ve had several bags where the waist did come off and never removed it. As far as the review itself, I run a podcast called All Things Photo and just reached out to F-Stop. I find most companies (not the super big ones) are great to deal with. For me it was important to send it back so I could be honest without the guilt! They had no issue with it. I ended up ordering the green one and used my own money. It’s a nice bag for sure. I’ll keep my Shimoda Action X 30L for when I need to go super light or compact.

I see about 2-3" and 3-4" on the waist belt straps that you could extend even further? Or am I missing how that works

I could get a few more inches out of them but there wasn’t a lot of room left. With a heavy coat it would be pretty difficult. The best answer for me of course is to lose more weight. :-) Thanks for watching!

Also, you mentioned owning a shimoda bag as well, could compare the comfort and carry ergonomics between the two? I’m looking at this or the Shimoda action x50

I have the Shimoda Action X 30L and it is more comfortable to carry but it also holds less gear. I found I was having trouble taking all I wanted for shorter walks. That’s why I started looking and ended up with the Tilopa. I’ll keep the Shimoda because of the comfort and when I want to go light.

@@jasoneldridgephotography thanks! Do you think if you had the X50 that the comfort would be better than the Tilopa?
@jasoneldridgephotography

@@jasonnowwhat5041 I think the comfort would be though the camera gear space would be more limiting. Honestly if I could get a little wider Shimoda I would have just done that. I do love my Tilopa though. The search for the perfect bag continues!!!

@@jasoneldridgephotography yeah I hear you..already have an F Stop icu so that’s a financial factor but I love the shimoda harness system and their approach to water bottle storage. For sure no perfect bag! Lol

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll consider it when I do my next bag review. If you go to their website they have a photo of someone wearing it: shop.fstopgear.com/camera-bags/tilopa-50l-duradiamond-travel-and-adventure-camera-backpack/

Are the side pockets large enough to put a big water bottle in?

I don’t think so. You could perhaps fit a 12oz bottle.

I ended up with one of these and a Shimoda x50L. It holds my Z9, 24-70 f4, 14-24 f2.8, 70-200 f2.8 and 100-400 f4.5-5.6. It’s tight but I can do it. I can’t quite fit the same in the Tilopa. Thanks for watching!

The new one is a little better than the original. I have gone to the Shimoda Action x50 primarily because of the comfort.
